Tom Ferncombe passed away last Thursday at the age of 83.

He travelled from Waterford, Ireland in 1963 in search of work opportunities and in 1973 he formed Cappagh Contractors which is now part of the Cappagh Group and has grown into a £200m turnover business.

Michael Ferncombe, Group Managing Director and the eldest son of Tom said: “It is with great sadness that I have to inform you on behalf of the Family, the sad news of the passing of our father and founder of the Cappagh Group of Companies, Tom Ferncombe.

“Tom was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to so many.

“We thank everyone for the many kind words they have shared with the family, demonstrating how much Tom was respected and we look forward to sharing these special memories with you over the coming weeks.

“Tom will be greatly missed by his loving family, colleagues and friends.”
